French Halloween Read Aloud

Read Aloud with Madame Angel: Où est le fantôme

French Halloween Read Aloud Book

C’est l’Halloween and this read-aloud from my collection is a great one for the season!  Où est le fantôme practices French Prepositions of location, while at the same time introducing your students to some Halloween vocabulary.

And, who can resist the cute little ghost?

This French Emergent reader features a little ghost who finds himself in a variety of fun Halloween themed places!  The book is strategically targeting the prepositions of place (sur, sous, dans, devant, derrière etc.)

The package comes with a Big Book version that you can print and bind to share with your class. Once students are familiar with the text, you will find they come back to read it over and over again!

Once students are familiar with the text in a large group, provide them with one of the half-page booklets. These come in two versions – one for students to read and simply colour and a second cut and paste version!

For the second version, simply have your students cut the ghosts out and glue them in the correct positions on each page.  The last page has been left blank for students to add their own ideas.

As a final task for Où est le fantôme,  make a class book! Have each student design a page for the book. Once complete, bind all the pages together to make a class book!  This is also fun to put in your classroom library.  Students love seeing and reading their work!

Joyeux Halloween!
