Remembrance Day is celebrated in Canada each year on November 11. As we honour the many sacrifices of those who have gone before us, it is so important to teach our early primary French Immersion students about this this day and some of the many traditions they may experience during Remembrance Day celebrations.
“Nous célébrons le Jour du Souvenir” is written in simple language and with supporting images to introduce early French Immersion readers to Remembrance Day. The package includes a full page size “Big Book”.
The Big Book is great for using as a read-aloud and can also be placed in your class library for students to read again and again.
Once students become familiar with the book, give them their own copy! There are two smaller versions of the book!
The first version is a colouring book version with text and images. The second version has only the text and students can draw their own pictures or use the cut-and-paste images provided.
